The Government enacted the law of the trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union
The Argentinian government has officially enacted the law for the trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union following its approval by the Senate.
The government of Argentina has formally enacted law No. 27.800, which brings into effect the international trade agreement established between Mercosur member countries and the European Union. This decision follows a special session of the Congress where the Senate endorsed the trade agreement. The executive action was carried out through Decree 111/2026, signed by President Javier Milei and other key government officials.
The agreement marks a significant move in strengthening economic ties between South American countries and Europe, promoting strategic partnership and commercial exchanges. By formalizing the treaty, the Argentinian government aims to enhance trade relations, potentially expanding market opportunities for domestic producers and attracting European investments in various sectors.
The enactment of this law is not only significant for trade but also for political relations between the regions involved, reflecting a mutual commitment to economic cooperation. The implementation of the agreement could have consequential impacts on trade dynamics, economic growth, and job creation within the Mercosur bloc, while also positioning Argentina as a pivotal player in the global market.
