'Truth Always Prevails...,' said Sunita after Kejriwal was acquitted in the liquor scam
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been acquitted in the Delhi liquor scam, a decision she celebrated with a statement highlighting the triumph of truth.
Arvind Kejriwal, the former Chief Minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has been acquitted by the Rouse Avenue Court in the liquor scam that had embroiled his party and several of its high-profile leaders. Alongside him, AAP leader Manish Sisodia was also cleared of charges. This outcome has been met with jubilation by Kejriwal's wife, Sunita, who expressed her happiness on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), proclaiming that no one is more powerful than divine forces and that the truth always prevails.
In a press interaction post-acquittal, Kejriwal fervently asserted his innocence, claiming the accusations against him were fabricated. He declared that he is not corrupt and emphasized that he believes God is on his side. He alleged that the case was part of a larger conspiracy aimed at dismantling his party, AAP, which has seen a significant number of its leaders imprisoned, including the unprecedented arrest of a sitting Chief Minister from his home, a historic first in India's political landscape.
Sisodia echoed Kejriwal's sentiments, stating 'Satyamev Jayate' (Truth Alone Triumphs) on social media, reflecting a sense of philosophical victory amidst the legal challenges faced. This case has significant political implications as it not only affects the AAP's standing but also shapes the narrative around corruption and governance in Indian politics, particularly ahead of upcoming elections.
