Taliban strengthen on the Durand Line, seize 19 posts of Pakistan Army... what are the ground conditions
The Taliban have reportedly seized 19 posts of the Pakistan Army along the Durand Line following recent military engagements between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
On Friday morning, Pakistan conducted airstrikes in Kabul and two other provinces of Afghanistan, which followed an earlier attack from Afghanistan into Pakistan. The situation is tense with reports of at least three explosions heard in Kabul, though immediate confirmations of the attack's locations and casualties are pending. Amidst this backdrop, the Taliban has claimed to have taken control of 19 posts, including two army bases of the Pakistan Army near the Durand Line.
In a statement to Aaj Tak, Obaidullah Farooqi, spokesperson for the Afghan Border Force (ABP), declared that Afghan forces retaliated against Pakistan following its cross-border offensives. According to him, approximately 53 Pakistani soldiers have been reported killed in the escalation, and he emphasized that Afghan forces are highly motivated to defend their country. Farooqi mentioned that they are fully committed to responding decisively to any aggressive actions from Pakistan.
This escalating conflict near the Durand Line marks a significant increase in tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, reflecting the complex dynamics of border security and military presence in the region. As both sides assert their military strategies and capabilities, the civilians in the border regions remain under significant threat, with the potential for further violence and instability in the area and beyond.
