Japan's World Cup Base Will Be in Nashville, USA; Heat Measures Ahead of Time in Mexico
Japan's national soccer team will set up their World Cup base in Nashville, Tennessee, and will conduct pre-camp heat acclimatization in Monterrey, Mexico.
The Japan Football Association announced on the 27th that the Japanese national team will base their camp for the upcoming World Cup, scheduled to start in June, in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, they will hold a pre-camp in Monterrey, Mexico, where they will play their second group match. While Nashville requires a flight from the group match venues in Dallas, Texas, the time difference is minimal, making it a favorable location. Head coach Hajime Moriyasu emphasized the importance of a stress-free environment for the players to focus on training and performance.
The chosen training facilities in Nashville are those of Major League Soccer franchise Nashville SC, which features two natural grass pitches along with advanced amenities such as hot and cold bathing facilities, a swimming pool, and sauna. The facilities are well-equipped to help the players prepare physically and mentally for the upcoming matches. The team plans to enter Mexico for pre-camp after an international friendly match held in Tokyo on May 31.
Following their arrival in Monterrey, the team will conduct heat acclimatization exercises to adapt to the challenging Mexican climate before heading to their main base in Nashville. This strategic approach highlights the importance of acclimatization and optimal training conditions to enhance performance during the World Cup tournament, reflecting the team's commitment to maximizing their chances for success on the international stage.
