Grocery shopping via KakaoTalk... Lotte Mart and Kakao partnership
Lotte Mart and Kakao have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance online grocery shopping capabilities through KakaoTalk by the end of the year.
Lotte Mart and Kakao have collaborated to facilitate online shopping for fresh produce and groceries using KakaoTalk, with the service expected to launch by the end of this year. This partnership aims to strengthen Lotte Mart's online grocery platform, Lotte Mart Zeta, by integrating it into Kakao's shopping services. Through this agreement, Lotte Mart plans to widen its customer reach and develop a broader online shopping foundation.
Under the terms of the partnership, Lotte Mart will oversee product sourcing and service operations, ensuring that the entire order processing, logistics, and delivery workflow is managed in-house. This initiative is designed to ensure that fresh products available in Lotte Mart's brick-and-mortar stores will also be accessible online. Additionally, the company has plans to inaugurate the 'Zeta Smart Center Busan', a logistics center focused on online grocery orders, expanding delivery services in the Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do regions, and eventually stretching these services to the Seoul metropolitan area.
Both companies are committed to creating a seamless shopping environment that integrates online and offline experiences. They intend to enhance user convenience through improved interface design and new feature development. This collaboration has the potential to redefine online grocery shopping standards by combining Lotte Mart's expertise in fresh food with Kakao’s user-friendly commerce platform, as noted by executives from both companies in recent statements.
