Mexico rejects anti-immigrant law approved by Texas

The Mexican government condemned Texas's SB4 law, which allows for the arrest of migrants who have allegedly entered the state illegally.

The Mexican government, through the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SRE), has formally rejected the SB4 law initiative approved by the Texas Congress, which enables the arrest of migrants suspected of illegal entry. This legislation also permits judges to order immigrants to return to the country from which they crossed illegally, bypassing the traditional judicial process. Such measures have raised concerns regarding the treatment and rights of migrants.
