The Estonian Paralympic Committee introduced six new members of Team Estonia on Thursday, and included warm wishes for the wheelchair curling team that will compete in the upcoming Paralympics in Cortina, Italy. The team is set to fly to the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games on Sunday, ahead of the official opening ceremony the following Friday. However, mixed doubles curling matches will commence on Wednesday evening, giving the team an early start in the competition. Ain Villau and Kätlin Riidebach, under the guidance of coach Aleksander Andre, have undergone thorough training in preparation for the Olympics. The usual training regimen has not been disrupted in the lead-up to the Paralympics, which reassures both athletes. Riidebach expressed confidence in their readiness, stating that while they have identified some areas to refine technically, overall they are prepared for the competition. Villau echoed this sentiment by admitting that while he feels another year of preparation would be beneficial, he is also confident in their readiness for the event.
