Man killed by coast guard wanted to incite revolt in Cuba, says friend

Michel Ortega Casanova was one of four Cubans who were killed by the coast guard after entering Cuban territorial waters armed. According to a friend from the anti-communist movement in Florida, Casanova sought to ignite a rebellion against the Cuban regime. On the morning of Wednesday, the group attempted to infiltrate Cuba, and upon confrontation by the coast guard, they opened fire, injuring a military officer in the process.
Following the incident, four members of the group were killed, and the remaining six were reported to be injured and detained by authorities at a hospital in Santa Clara. The Cuban government has labeled the action as a terrorist infiltration. Wilfredo Beyra, a member of the anti-Castro Republican Party of Cuba, emphasized that Casanova's intention was to combat the
