Two cars hit posts in a row on an avenue in Campinas
Two cars collided with posts consecutively on Avenida Luiz Smânio in Campinas, Brazil, with no reported injuries.
On Thursday afternoon, two cars were involved in separate collisions against utility poles on Avenida Luiz Smânio at the intersection with Avenida Brasil, located between the Castelo and Taquaral neighborhoods of Campinas, São Paulo. The incidents occurred around 1:10 PM, according to the Municipal Development Company of Campinas (Emdec). Remarkably, no victims were reported as a result of these accidents, emphasizing the fortunate outcome despite the vehicle damage.
The first vehicle, a T-Cross, crashed into a utility pole, shortly followed by a Honda Civic that also collided with another pole in the same area. A passing driver recorded a video of the aftermath, capturing the moment of the crashes and illustrating the confusion on the scene as witnesses commented on the two consecutive accidents. Emdec responded to the scene, taking precautions by restricting one lane of the road due to the risk of a pole toppling, although they safely cleared the area afterward.
Technicians from CPFL Energia were called to assess the damage and ensure public safety. Fortunately, there was no traffic congestion reported as a result of the accidents, allowing for a quick response and recovery in the busy area of Campinas. This incident serves as a reminder of the need for road safety and vigilance while driving, particularly at intersections that might pose risks for drivers and pedestrians alike.
