The second season of Kanal 2's youth science competition 'Rocket Junior' concluded, determining Estonia's smartest school with only one point separating the finalists.
The finale of the youth science competition 'Rocket Junior' aired on Kanal 2, showcasing the top schools from a pool of over 100 participants. After a series of regional preliminaries, 138 schools across Estonia registered, with the best advancing to the televised rounds. The quarter-finals featured 16 schools, from which four made it to the semi-finals: Lähte Ühisgümnaasium, Holstre Kool, Püha Miikali Kool, and Peetri Lasteaed-Põhikool. In a tightly contested finale, Peetri Lasteaed-Põhikool from Harjumaa faced off against Püha Miikali Kool from Tallinn. The competition was intense, with only one point marking the difference between the two schools, ultimately crowning Peetri Lasteaed-Põhikool as the winner of 'Rocket Junior'. As a reward, the winners will embark on a prize trip to the Experimentarium science center in Copenhagen, while the runner-up will receive a trip to the Heureka science center in Finland, highlighting the importance of fostering scientific inquiry among the youth in Estonia.
