Young woman sent a message, then B.Tech student committed suicide by hanging
A B.Tech student in Greater Noida committed suicide by hanging, shocking his peers who described him as diligent in his studies.
On Tuesday, a B.Tech student in Greater Noida was found dead by suicide in his hostel room at Bhagat Singh Hostel. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene, opened the door to the room, and took down the body from the noose. They then sent the body for post-mortem, while the deceased's family later arrived from Haryana to take the body for the final rites in their native village.
The student, identified as Gaurav, was a first-year B.Tech student at Galgotias University in Greater Noida and originally hailed from the Jatu area of Rewari district in Haryana. At the time of the incident, he was alone in the hostel as his three roommates had gone home for a vacation. This has raised questions regarding the circumstances leading to his tragic decision, considering especially that peers regarded him as a hardworking student, leaving many in the student community surprised and concerned.
His death has shocked those who knew him, prompting discussions amongst students about mental health and the pressures faced in academic environments. The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the need for support systems for students, especially in high-pressure educational settings, to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
