The Archive Responds: 'Absolutely Not Acceptable'

The Archive's management responds to accusations of a poor work environment and beauty ideals that employees feel pressured to meet.

The management of The Archive has addressed allegations surrounding a toxic work environment and unrealistic beauty standards following an investigation by Aftonbladet. CEO Martin Hallander expressed his deep concern upon hearing employee testimonials, stating that it is unacceptable for any individual to feel uncomfortable or pressured in the workplace. Hallander emphasized that the company does not expect its employees to look like models and acknowledged the serious nature of these allegations.

In response to the criticism, Hallander noted that the HR function within the company has not expanded at the same pace as its rapid growth, suggesting that some needed support and structures may have been overlooked in the hustle to scale the business. He expressed remorse for the situation, underlining the company’s commitment to creating a better environment for its employees.

Furthermore, just two days after Aftonbladet's inquiries, employees were notified about the establishment of a whistleblower function, which Hallander admitted should have been implemented earlier. This move is part of an effort to ensure that employee concerns are adequately addressed, aiming to prevent similar issues from arising in the future.
