Wage Increases for Teachers. Unionists Demand 'Urgent Changes' from the Head of the Ministry of Education
A teachers' union in Poland is calling for a 15% increase in minimum salary rates for educators and the removal of discriminatory clauses regarding additional pay for difficult working conditions.
The Free Trade Union 'Forum-Education' has addressed Barbara Nowacka, the head of the Ministry of Education in Poland, concerning a draft regulation on minimum basic salary rates for teachers revealed at the end of January. The union has expressed dissatisfaction with the proposed salary rates, highlighting their inadequacy in compensating teachers for the challenges they face. In their initial findings, they stated, 'We view the proposed minimum salary rates negatively.' This sentiment reflects the growing tension between educators and the ministry as teachers advocate for better compensation.
