Slovak biathlete Paulina Batovska Fialkova has announced her retirement from competitive sports following an impressive career in which she achieved ten individual podium finishes in the World Cup series, though she never secured a first-place victory. Throughout her career, Fialkova's most notable season was 2018/2019, where she claimed six podium spots and finished second overall in individual distance competitions, as well as third in mass start events. Despite her successes in the World Cup, Fialkova faced challenges at major championships, with her best Olympic result being a fifth-place finish in 2018 at PyeongChang.
