VIDEO: Giant yellow anaconda crosses highway and is captured near house in Minas

A giant yellow anaconda was captured by firefighters after crossing a highway near a house in Ituiutaba, Brazil.

On the night of Wednesday (25), a large yellow anaconda prompted a response from the Fire Department after it was spotted near a home in the São José neighborhood of Ituiutaba, located in Triângulo Mineiro. The snake crossed the BR-365 highway and entered a bushy area approximately ten meters away from the residence. The fact that the home lacks walls or fencing raised concerns among local residents about the potential risks posed by such a large snake. Firefighters arrived on the scene and confirmed the sighting of an Eunectes notaeus, measuring about four meters in length. Videos and images taken during the operation showed the snake being measured post-capture. The rescue team employed appropriate techniques and equipment to safely manage the wildlife situation, ensuring that the anaconda was unharmed during the process. After the successful capture, the firefighters transported the snake and released it back into its natural habitat, as per standard wildlife management protocols. The Fire Department advises the public to remain cautious when encountering wildlife close to residential areas, emphasizing the importance of safe handling and intervention strategies for such incidents.
