The Municipal Hospital of Santarém provided an update on the condition of the victims involved in a serious accident on Tuesday, July 23, where a car was struck by a truck, leading to the death of one driver. The incident is currently under investigation by the Civil Police. It has been confirmed that a 36-year-old woman has been admitted to the trauma unit with serious injuries, including fractures of the acetabulum (part of the hip joint), a dislocated left hip, and a fractured toe on her left foot.

Medical personnel have reported that her condition is stable but serious, and she is awaiting further evaluation from the orthopedics team to determine the next steps for her treatment. The other party involved in the accident, a man who sustained injuries, has been evaluated and subsequently discharged after treatment. This accident has drawn attention due to its severity and the tragic outcome for one of the drivers.

The incident also raises concerns regarding road safety on the stretch of Cuiabá Avenue, where the collision occurred, as emphasized by the Civil Police who are conducting the investigation.
