The University Denied Students
The Appeals Committee for Student Complaints at the University of Iceland has rejected a former student's claim for a refund of registration fees, stating that her request was baseless.
The Appeals Committee for Student Complaints at the University of Iceland recently ruled against a former student, Jessýjar Jónsdóttir, regarding her request for a refund of registration fees for the year 2022. The committee, which issued its decision in November but made it public recently, found that Jónsdóttir's case did not provide adequate grounds for the refund, contradicting her assertion that the fees were charged unlawfully. The university's Student Council had previously celebrated what they thought was a victory in this matter in October 2023, claiming that students had triumphed, but this turned out to be premature as the committee’s final ruling denied the refund request.
