Russia attacks several major Ukrainian cities with missiles and drones

Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with over 400 drones and 39 missiles, targeting key cities including Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.

In the latest military escalation, Russia attacked Ukraine during the night, deploying over 400 drones primarily of the 'Shahed' model, alongside 39 various types of missiles. The assaults were reported in 32 locations, with a primary focus on Kyiv, northeastern Kharkiv, and southeastern Zaporizhzhia. These attacks signify an intensification of hostilities and contribute to the ongoing tensions in the region.

In Kyiv, significant damage occurred across several city districts, affecting private homes and apartment complexes; however, fortunately, there were no reports of casualties in the capital. Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, eight individuals were injured, including an eight-year-old boy, with damages reported in a shopping center and a residential building that caught fire as a result of the strikes. Such incidents highlight the escalating threat to civilian infrastructure and the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Furthermore, attacks also targeted Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine, where a high-rise building caught fire, leading to two injuries. Kharkiv and the surrounding region suffered the most severe impact, with 16 confirmed injuries, including two children. These developments come as diplomatic talks are set to take place in Geneva between representatives from the US and Ukraine, aimed at preparing for trilateral discussions focused on the conflict.
