In March, the Municipality of Athens is providing free guided tours at various historical and archaeological sites, museums, and cultural venues within the city. This initiative, led by the City Council member responsible for the Historical Promotion of Athens, Artemis Skoumpourdi, invites both residents and visitors to explore Athens through organized thematic walks and visits. These tours are conducted in partnership with the Association of Licensed Tour Guides of Athens.

The program features tours of iconic archaeological sites, including the Ancient Agora and Aristotle's Lyceum, alongside excursions in the historic center and hills surrounding the Acropolis. Additionally, thematic routes dedicated to Byzantine, Ottoman, and modern Athens are included, allowing participants to gain a broader understanding of the city's diverse historical layers. The tours also encompass visits to key museums in Athens, such as the Benaki Museum, the National Gallery, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, ensuring a rich cultural experience for all attendees.

This initiative not only aims to promote cultural heritage and history to the public but also seeks to enhance community engagement and attract more visitors to Athens.
