In a shocking incident in Lucknow's Ashiyana Bangla Market, Akshat fatally shot his father, Manvendra Singh, using a licensed rifle on February 19. He ordered a set of knives and a saw from online platforms, demonstrating a disturbing level of premeditation. During interrogation, it was revealed that he used a knife to slice open his father's abdomen intending to prevent rapid decomposition. Akshat chose to dismember the body as he could not fit the whole corpse into a blue barrel to dispose of it appropriately, intending to discard the torso into a canal but failed because of the barrel's weight.
