Signal error causes delays across the entire subway network

A signal error in Oslo's subway has caused significant delays, but the issue has now been resolved according to Ruter officials.

A signal error affected all lines of the subway system in Oslo, leading to widespread delays for commuters. Karoline Berg, a communications advisor at Ruter, confirmed that the issue has been corrected, restoring service to the subway. However, she warned that continued follow-up issues could still result in additional delays for passengers.

The disruptions were particularly notable during the morning commute, with Ruter indicating that the signal error would affect service until around 9 AM. Passengers were advised to expect delays ranging from 10 to 15 minutes and to monitor the Ruter app for updates. Reports from commuters indicated that journey times had increased dramatically, with some noting trips that typically take six minutes extending to over 25 minutes due to the slower train speeds imposed by the operational adjustments.

Overall, while the initial issue of the signal error has been resolved, Ruter cautioned that it might take some time for service to return to normal. Commuters are advised to stay updated and remain patient as the situation continues to develop, emphasizing the importance of communication and timely information during such incidents.
