Day 1463 of the War: Ukraine Sets Fire to a Factory Supplying Russian Military Industry in Smolensk
Ukraine has targeted a factory supplying the Russian military industry in Smolensk with airstrikes, killing at least seven individuals.
On the 1463rd day of the ongoing war, Ukraine has executed an airstrike that set ablaze a factory in Smolensk which supports the Russian military industry. This strike resulted in the death of at least seven people according to local reports. Yuri Ignat, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, provided details about the ongoing conflict, highlighting the extensive attacks Russia has conducted against Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began four years ago.
As of now, Russia's military actions have involved the use of 13,000 missiles, 88,000 attack drones, and over 120,000 guided aerial bombs targeting Ukrainian positions. This escalation comes amid complex geopolitical discussions, including recent communications between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as Ukraine seeks renewed dialogues with both Russia and the United States. Zelensky expressed hope that these new discussions might lead to a meeting between the leaders involved.
Additionally, reports indicate that over 1,700 Africans are fighting on the side of Russia in this conflict, a factor that underscores the broader international implications of the war. Meanwhile, talks are scheduled to take place in Geneva between the U.S. and Ukraine on February 26, and significant developments are also occurring in the United Kingdom with the establishment of the first Ukrainian arms factory, indicating a shift in support dynamics within the conflict.
