Enyimba, Rivers make top 500 club world ranking
Rivers United and Enyimba have been recognized among the top 500 football clubs globally according to the latest ranking by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.
Rivers United and Enyimba have been included in the top 500 clubs in the world as per the latest five-year ranking released by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). In the IFFHS Menβs Club World Ranking, Rivers United holds the 278th position with 361.75 points, while Enyimba is ranked 421st with 280 points. This ranking emphasizes the performance of these teams in both domestic and continental competitions over the review period of January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2025.
Rivers United has shown impressive form in the Nigerian Premier Football League, having won the NPFL title during the 2021/22 season and finishing third in 2022/23. Their consistency is further highlighted by their participation in continental tournaments, where they successfully reached the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in the last two seasons and qualified for the group stage of the upcoming CAF Champions League in 2025/26. This achievement places them at a commendable rank internationally, showcasing the growing competitiveness of Nigerian clubs.
