Almost 70% of Russian prisoners of war believe the war against Ukraine is justified
A study shows that nearly 70% of Russian war prisoners perceive the war against Ukraine as justified, strongly influenced by Russian propaganda.
A recent survey revealed that 68.29% of Russian prisoners of war believe that the so-called 'special military operation' against Ukraine is justified or necessary to some extent. Sociologists have noted that the strongest support for the war comes from those POWs who are influenced by Russian propaganda, with 88% of them claiming the war is justified. In contrast, among those who do not believe in propaganda, only 51% justify the war. Furthermore, around 13% of respondents who believe in Russian propaganda stated that the war is 'completely justified and necessary,' while only 2% of those skeptical of propaganda felt the same way, indicating a significant psychological impact of propaganda on the soldiers' perceptions.
