Provocative Banner from Fenerbahce Fans for Serbs: 'You Are All Children of Turks'
Fenerbahce fans have retaliated against Partizan fans with a provocative banner in response to historical tensions between the two clubs.
The ongoing rivalry between Fenerbahce and Partizan has intensified following a provocative banner displayed by Fenerbahce fans in response to an earlier demonstration by Partizan supporters. The initial display, which took place in November during a match in Belgrade, featured an image of Milo Obilic, a historical figure known for assassinating the Ottoman Sultan Murad I during the First Battle of Kosovo in 1389. This act led to heavy fines imposed on Partizan by Euroleague due to the contentious nature of the banner. In retaliation, Fenerbahce fans showcased their own banner during a recent match, referencing Serbia's historical subjugation under the Ottoman Empire and depicting Sultan Murad I with Serbian soldiers kneeling before him. The banner further escalated tensions, as Fenerbahce fans followed up with another message in Serbian, provocatively stating that all Serbs are children of Turks, deepening the historical and cultural conflict between the two nations.
