Bodies of explosion victims in RJ are already in Sergipe where they will be buried
The bodies of two victims from a fuel distribution company explosion in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, have been transported back to their home state of Sergipe for burial.
On a recent incident in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, an explosion at the Vibra fuel distribution company's facility led to the tragic death of two workers from Sergipe, aged 28 and 27. The explosion occurred in the early hours of Sunday, and the bodies were discovered inside a fuel tank. Family members reported that the deceased were engaged in different jobs in Volta Redonda for around four months prior to the incident.
Oberdan Santos de Jesus, 28, will be buried in Pirambu, Sergipe, while Antonyel dos Santos Meneses, 27, is set to be laid to rest in the Povoado Sapucaia near Japaratuba. The transfer of the bodies was completed on Wednesday afternoon, indicating the quick response to bring the victims back to their home state. The families are mourning the loss of their loved ones who had traveled to Rio de Janeiro for work opportunities.
The situation highlights the hazards faced by workers in the combustible material sector, raising concerns about safety regulations in industrial operations.
