The competition for Verbruggen is intense, with clubs like Bayern Munich, Tottenham, and Chelsea also pursuing him, which could expedite Real Madrid's move to secure his services.

On the other hand, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, currently Courtois's backup, has the club's appreciation, but he has yet to prove that he is the ideal long-term replacement for the Belgian. Despite these preparations, Courtois has reiterated his desire to finish his career at Real Madrid, stating, "I hope to renew my contract. Playing here is a dream that comes true every season, and I hope to retire at the club." At 33 years old, Courtois remains one of the world's top goalkeepers since joining the royal club.
