A 33-year-old fugitive, identified by the initials L.L.F., who had escaped from the prison system in Minas Gerais, Brazil, was arrested on the night of October 24 in Canto do Buriti, Piauí. The local Civil Police report that he has a criminal history that includes drug trafficking and robbery, heightening the concerns over his potential threat to public order.
The arrest follows an investigation led by Detective Vinicius Araújo, who noted that the fugitive had been on the run since January of this year. A recapture warrant had been issued from the Criminal Execution Court in Juiz de Fora just prior to his capture.
