Tourist dies in Goa due to Thar SUV accident, FIR against Delhi youth, claim of lady driver change

A 19-year-old from Delhi has been charged with negligent driving leading to the death of a 65-year-old man in Goa.

Goa Police have filed a case against a 19-year-old Delhi resident, Shaurya Goyal, for negligent driving resulting in the death of a 65-year-old man identified as Bhagat Ram Sharma from Madhya Pradesh. The fatal incident occurred on February 23, 2026, at Happy Bar Junction in North Goa when Goyal, driving his Mahindra Thar at high speed, lost control and collided with another vehicle. The impact of the crash was severe, completely wrecking the car carrying Sharma and three others.

Sharma was critically injured in the collision and was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The police informed that post-mortem procedures have been completed and Sharma's body will be handed over to his family.
