Max Pezzali and Achille Lauro, the lineup for the second evening
The second evening of the Sanremo Festival features a lineup of 15 artists, with new co-hosts and performances from emerging talents.
Following a debut night with 7 points fewer in viewership compared to last year, the Sanremo Festival continues with its second evening program. Artistic director Carlo Conti, along with Laura Pausini, will welcome three new co-hosts on stage: singer Achille Lauro, comedian Lillo, and actress Pilar Fogliati. Unlike the previous night where all thirty competing artists performed, this evening will showcase only 15 prominent artists, announced by Carlo Conti during the daily press conference.
Furthermore, Gianluca Gazzoli will introduce the four finalists of Sanremo Giovani, with a direct competition between the New Proposals artists scheduled. Filippucci will face off against the trio of Blind, El Ma & Soniko, while Mazzariello takes on Angelica Bove. The votes for the New Proposals will contribute to determining the finalists and, ultimately, the winners at this year’s festival.
The changes in co-hosting and the narrowed lineup reflect an attempt to revitalize viewer interest following a lukewarm response to the festival's kickoff, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by traditional media events in engaging audiences. As viewers look forward to the emerging talents, the festival’s management will be keenly watching audience engagement metrics to assess improvements in ratings and reception as the event progresses.
