LVSO presents its first educational book for children "Where is my baton?" at the Vilnius Book Fair

LVSO introduces an educational children's book that explores the world of symphonic orchestras through engaging storytelling and interactive tasks.

The LVSO (Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra) has unveiled its first educational book for children titled "Where is my baton?" at the Vilnius Book Fair. The book, penned by Sigita Pūkė and illustrated by Greta Alice, employs the character of conductor Klaus Ausevičius to take young readers into the vibrant world of a concert day. It poses intriguing questions about the conductor’s role before a concert, the variety of instruments in an orchestra, and the initial chaos of sounds that emerge when musicians take the stage.

This delightful narrative is designed not only to entertain but also to educate, filled with fascinating facts and engaging tasks for young readers. The book introduces a secret guide called Smegeniukas, who leads children through the workings of a symphonic orchestra. The initiative to release this educational book came after the LVSO returned to its newly renovated concert hall, where they have been hosting highly popular concerts for children along with a new live educational program aimed at school students.

Through this project, the LVSO aims to deepen children’s understanding and appreciation of orchestral music. The live educational experiences complement the book by allowing students to engage directly with the instruments and concepts discussed in the narrative, thus bridging the gap between literature and live performance, fostering a love for music from a young age.
