Mazda and Mitsubishi Provide Full Answers Amidst US Tariffs: Early Resolution in the Automotive Spring Labor Negotiations

Mazda and Mitsubishi Motors announced they fully met the labor union's demands for wage increases and bonuses during this year's labor negotiations, seeking to retain talent despite pressure from US tariffs.

Mazda and Mitsubishi Motors, along with Yamaha Motor, announced on the 25th that they have fully responded to the labor unions' demands for wage increases and bonuses during this year's spring labor negotiations. Unlike many other major companies that usually wait until mid-March to address such demands, these automotive companies opted for an early resolution. Despite facing pressure on profits due to high tariff policies from the United States, they aim to retain talent by offering wage increases. Mazda responded to a request for a 19,000 yen monthly wage increase, which is the highest amount since the current personnel system was established in 2003, bringing the wage increase rate to 5.5%.
