The NSK meeting scheduled for Wednesday is canceled

The National Security Commission meeting in Lithuania, originally set for Wednesday, has been postponed to ensure participation from all relevant authorities and will address pressing issues concerning smuggling and financial fraud in an upcoming session.

The planned meeting of the National Security Commission (NSK) in Lithuania, which was to take place on Wednesday, has been rescheduled due to the need to coordinate the schedules of its members and ensure the participation of all responsible authorities. The advisor to the prime minister confirmed this decision to the media, stating that the topics on the agenda remain relevant and will be discussed in the next meeting.

The NSK was set to review rising concerns over smuggling activities, particularly regarding the illegal transportation of balloons from Belarus, which have been interrupting civil aviation operations. This issue has become increasingly pressing, leading the Government to declare a national state of emergency at the end of last year. Previous meetings, including one held in early February, have addressed the hybrid attacks attributed to Belarus, highlighting serious allegations and the need for continued vigilance on the Polish-Lithuanian border.

The upcoming meeting aims to explore what measures can be implemented to combat both smuggling and financial fraud, which have been rising in the region. As the situation develops, the decisions made in the next session could have significant implications for national security policy and intergovernmental cooperation in addressing transnational crime.
