Aerolíneas Argentinas closed 2025 with a surplus of nearly US$113 million, double that of last year

Aerolíneas Argentinas reported a record operational surplus of US$112.7 million for 2025, the first time since its nationalization that it didn't receive government support.

In a significant milestone for Aerolíneas Argentinas, the airline concluded the year 2025 with an operational surplus of US$112.7 million, marking a substantial increase from the US$56.6 million surplus the previous year. This achievement is particularly notable as it is the first time since the airline was re-nationalized in 2008 that it has operated without any financial assistance from the Argentine government. The airline's total revenue exceeded US$2.22 billion, positioning 2025 as the second consecutive year of operational surplus for Aerolíneas, an unprecedented occurrence in its recent history.

Operationally, Aerolíneas maintained its flight hours consistent with 2024, achieving an impressive occupancy factor of 83% across an average of 300 daily flights, carrying approximately 35,016 passengers each day. The total number of passengers transported during the year reached 12.78 million, reflecting a robust demand for air travel services. Additionally, the airline's operational reliability is highlighted by a 99.4% compliance rate, showcasing not only operational efficiency but also enhancing customer satisfaction as evidenced by a positive Net Promoter Score (NPS).

This operational success amid a challenging economic environment points to effective management strategies and could indicate a potential trend in the airline industry in Argentina. With the decline in government subsidies and a focus on improving service quality and reliability, Aerolíneas Argentinas may establish a more sustainable and profitable business model moving forward, thereby contributing positively to the national economy and positioning itself as a leading airline in Latin America.
