The leader of the band 'Biplan', Maksas Melmanas, joins the 'Piano & A Microphone' series

Maksas Melmanas will perform in an intimate concert series inspired by Prince's album.

The intimate concert series at the Lukiškės prison church, inspired by Prince's legendary album "Piano & A Microphone 1983", features well-known Lithuanian performers in an unusual format that may be unfamiliar and uncomfortable for them. On February 26, Maksas Melmanas, the leader of the band Biplan, will take to the stage at the unique St. Nicholas Wonderworker Church, marking his first performance in this format. Melmanas has shared that this upcoming concert feels personal and intimate, igniting excitement and nervousness ahead of the performance. He intends to perform songs that are rarely showcased by Biplan, returning some of them to life after a long time. This concert represents a new chapter for these songs and for Melmanas’s artistry, suggesting a blend of nostalgia and fresh expression. The project at Lukiškės prison church is recognized as one of the most beautiful conversion projects in Lithuania, attracting both local audiences and participants to witness performances in a non-traditional setting. This concert not only highlights Melmanas's artistry but also underscores the growing movement in Lithuania to celebrate music and art within unique and historically rich venues.
