VIDEO: councilwoman in Greater SP runs over boyfriend and says she was assaulted by him before the episode
A Brazilian councilwoman claims she was assaulted by her boyfriend before running him over with her car.
Councilwoman Aline Santos (MDB), 36, from Embu das Artes in Greater SΓ£o Paulo, reported being assaulted by her boyfriend, Bruno Marcelo Araujo de Souza, who allegedly punched and kicked her on the morning of December 25. After the assault, she ran over him with her car. The incident, which occurred around 5 am, began when the couple, who had gone out for a motorcycle ride, became embroiled in an argument, during which Bruno left Aline alone on the roadside.
Aline recounted that upon questioning her boyfriend about why he abandoned her, he became violent, resulting in injuries to her nose and face, as well as abrasions on her arms and legs. Following the assault, she entered her vehicle to leave, but Bruno reportedly blocked her car with his motorcycle, which led to her running him over. The situation has garnered media attention, and video evidence has now surfaced, shedding light on the incident.
The case raises significant questions about domestic violence and the potential for escalation in such situations. The councilwoman's claims of assault from her partner highlight the ongoing issue of violence in relationships, particularly in the context of power dynamics and accountability. This incident serves as a reminder of the complex nature of personal safety within intimate partnerships and the societal implications surrounding such violence.
