Even in thaw, skiing fun at Biķernieki track can continue for a while

Skiers at the Biķernieki track have started to enjoy their winter sports for the first time this season. One skier, Sandra, shared that she and her partner Valters came to the track because Valters wanted to try skiing for the first time. Other skiers like Kitija and Elvis also shared their enthusiasm for skiing, highlighting the fun of winter sports. Normunds Lagzdiņš, the director of the Biķernieki track, reassured the patrons that there is still plenty of skiing time left. Currently, part of the skiing track is covered with a 30-centimeter layer of artificial snow, which, if the natural snow melts, will remain for at least two to three more weeks. The overall length of the skiing track is 5.5 kilometers, with 1.1 kilometers being lit up and outfitted with artificial snow. This allows locals an opportunity to continue skiing activities even as the weather fluctuates.
