Banco Santander aims to exceed 20 billion euros in profit in three years, reaching 210 million customers
Banco Santander is planning to exceed 20 billion euros in profit by 2028 and is set to present its strategy during the Investor Day in London.
Banco Santander is set to present its roadmap for the next three years during the Investor Day taking place in London. The bank aims to achieve a record net profit exceeding 20 billion euros by 2028, although this reflects a slight slowdown compared to the substantial growth experienced in the previous three years, largely bolstered by rising interest rates in the euro area, one of its primary markets. The bank has seen a nearly 47% increase in net income last triennium, surpassing 14.1 billion euros by the end of 2025.
Santander's management, led by Ana Botín, forecasts continued growth at rates of 43% in the upcoming triennium, driven by the increased profitability from heavy investments in technology and significant cost reductions achieved through a global restructuring of the bank. These initiatives aim not only to enhance operational efficiency but also to expand their service offerings to a larger customer base, aspiring to reach 210 million clients.
Additionally, the bank is meeting market expectations by planning to increase its dividend, which indicates a commitment to returning value to shareholders amidst its ambitious growth strategy. This move could further boost investor confidence and solidify Santander's position as a leading financial institution in Europe, especially in the context of changing economic conditions.
