Min Hee-jin: If HYBE stops all lawsuits including NewJeans, I will give up 25.6 billion KRW
Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR, has proposed to HYBE that if they cease all ongoing lawsuits involving NewJeans, she would forfeit rights worth 25.6 billion KRW to help normalize group activities.
Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR, recently won a court ruling regarding a stock buyback lawsuit and announced her intention to propose to HYBE that they drop all ongoing litigation, including those involving NewJeans. She stated that in exchange for forsaking her rights valued at 25.6 billion KRW, she wants all civil and criminal lawsuits to be discontinued immediately. This comes as ADOR has initiated legal actions against NewJeans member Danielle and others, which is currently creating a tense environment affecting the group's activities.
During a press conference held in Jongno, Seoul, Min emphasized that her proposal is not solely for her own benefit but also considers the well-being of all NewJeans members, external partners, former employees of ADOR, and even fans who have been hurt by the ongoing conflicts. Min pointed out the absurd situation of talented performers being caught either on stage or in court, stressing that such a divided atmosphere cannot foster a positive culture. She remarked that the court had validated her concerns regarding creative ethics related to her managerial decisions.
Min's appeal to resolve the disputes aims to allow the five members of NewJeans to perform together without the distractions of legal battles. She urged for the focus to shift from the courtroom back to the creative stage, advocating for an environment where the group can thrive freely. Her message reflects a desire for reconciliation and a return to the artistic endeavors that should define their career rather than prolonged legal conflicts.
