The Children of Tapani Kansa Demand a Large Inheritance – The Company in a Modest Situation

The children of the late Finnish singer Tapani Kansa are challenging the inheritance distribution with claims of unfair asset sales.

Tapani Kansa, a well-known Finnish singer, passed away in March 2025 due to complications following gallbladder surgery. Following his death, the inheritance has become a contentious matter within the family, as his children contest the terms set by his life partner, Nina af Enehjelm. They argue that the only significant asset remaining after Kansa's passing was a house in Westend, Villa Lyökkiniemi, which Kansa sold to af Enehjelm at a price they claim was considerably below market value just a few years prior to his death.

The children allege that Kansa sold the property for 840,000 euros in 2021, only for af Enehjelm to later sell it for 2.8 million euros, raising questions about the valuation and the conditions of the sale. They have filed a lawsuit regarding the transfer of the house, asserting that it was a disadvantageous transaction for Kansa and that such actions left them with little to inherit. Johannes Kuorikoski, Kansa's son, expressed frustration over the situation, stating that it is baffling for the family to have received no inheritance when Kansa passed away.

As the dispute continues, it highlights not only the emotional turmoil within the family over inheritance issues but also the complexities involved in estate management and how subjective valuations of properties can impact the distribution of assets after death. The resolution of this case could set precedents for similar family inheritance disputes in Finland, especially in circumstances involving significant public figures and their estates.
