Santander announces construction of new headquarters in São Paulo
Santander has announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to a new building in the Itaim Bibi region of São Paulo, scheduled to open in the second half of 2028.
On Tuesday (24), Santander revealed plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to a new building situated in the Itaim Bibi area, a prominent financial hub in São Paulo. This move comes as part of the bank's ongoing growth strategy and aims to centralize its operations in a modern, state-of-the-art facility. The new headquarters is expected to be operational by the second half of 2028, marking a significant investment in the region.
The property, currently owned by real estate management firm GTIS Partners, occupies an entire block along the Juscelino Kubitschek Avenue, an area previously home to Extra Hipermercados and the now-defunct Mappin. GTIS had acquired the land in 2019, and the new complex will feature over 101,000 square meters of constructed area on a 15,000-square-meter plot. This prime location is set to enhance Santander's visibility and accessibility within the bustling financial district.
The ambitious project includes the construction of three interconnected corporate towers, designed with open spaces and communal areas for employees. Each building will consist of six office floors, four levels of parking, and a private rooftop, promoting a collaborative work environment. This new headquarters not only reflects Santander’s commitment to its workforce but also underscores the bank’s strategic focus on enhancing operational efficiency and solidifying its presence in the competitive Brazilian banking sector.
