A tragic incident occurred in São José dos Campos, Brazil, where a 69-year-old woman lost her life after being attacked by two pit bulls. The attack took place on the morning of the 23rd while the victim was walking home through a dirt path in the Jardim Primavera 2 neighborhood. Despite attempts by witnesses to save her by throwing stones at the dogs, they were unable to prevent the brutal attack, which resulted in severe injuries to her face, arms, and legs.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, quickly arrived at the scene and provided first aid before the victim was airlifted by the police to the Municipal Hospital of São José dos Campos. Unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries. Authorities have since closed the area where the attack took place for investigation purposes, raising concerns about the safety of dog ownership in the community and the responsibilities of pet owners.
The owner of the pit bulls, who lives nearby, has been arrested by the Civil Police as investigations into the attack are conducted.
