The BPC counted incidents during the rainfall: both cars and pedestrians slipped
Incidents of cars slipping off the road and hitting signs were reported in Vilnius due to heavy rainfall.
This morning at around 6 AM in Karvio village, located in the Maišiagala municipality of Vilnius district, a Toyota vehicle slid off the road and crashed into a road sign. The slippery road conditions, attributed to significant rainfall, led to several incidents in the area. Shortly thereafter, at 6:24 AM, a BMW was reported to have also struck a road sign in Vilnius, indicating that the challenging driving conditions affected multiple drivers. The local authorities and the BPC (presumably a safety or traffic monitoring body) are actively monitoring these incidents, which stem from the adverse weather, likely raising concerns about road safety in the region.
