New Cybersecurity Rules in Practice: From Registration to Supplier Audits
In Czechia, the revised Cybersecurity Act, known as NIS2, has been in effect since last November, yet many companies remain unaware of their obligations for mandatory registration and security measures.
Since November of last year, Czechia has been implementing the revised Cybersecurity Act, known as NIS2. This legislation introduces new requirements aimed at improving cybersecurity across various sectors, including mandatory registration and compliance with specific security protocols. Despite the law being in effect for several months, a significant number of companies are still unaware that they fall under its jurisdiction and thus need to adhere to these new regulations.
Experts in cybersecurity recently convened at the HN studio to discuss the implications of the NIS2 Act and the challenges companies face in complying with it. The discussion highlighted the confusion among businesses regarding their responsibilities and the potential risks associated with non-compliance. Many companies are unprepared for the necessary audits and security assessments, raising concerns about their vulnerability to cyber incidents.
The panel emphasized the importance of education and awareness regarding the new laws, noting that companies must prioritize cybersecurity to protect their data and maintain trust with customers. As fines for non-compliance can be significant, it is crucial for organizations to take the necessary steps to understand and implement the requirements set forth by the NIS2 legislation.
