The 15th Accordionists Festival of Feira de Santana is set to showcase the talents of accordion players from across Brazil, with registration closing on Tuesday, the 24th. This festival is organized by the University Center of Culture and Art of the State University of Feira de Santana (Cuca/Uefs) and is expected to attract participants from different states who will be judged by a panel. Each selected participant will receive a monetary prize of R$ 5,500.

This year's festival introduces a Local Category aimed at accordionists residing in municipalities within the Portal do Sertão region, emphasizing the importance of local talent. In addition to the Local Category, the festival will select contestants in four other categories, ensuring a diverse representation of skills and styles. A total of nine participants will be chosen from five different categories, promoting both national and regional talents.

The festival not only celebrates the traditional music of the accordion but also contributes to cultural engagement and community connection within Feira de Santana and the surrounding areas. By offering free registration and a range of awards, the event aims to encourage participation and highlight the musical heritage of the region while supporting local musicians.
