Sajid Khan Pathan, a Congress MLA from Maharashtra, claimed that he received a death threat from an individual associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller, who identified himself as Shubham Lonkar, alleged that he was involved in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui and threatened Pathan with death if he did not pay a ransom of 10 crores. Pathan recounted that he received the call while at home on February 17, during which the caller demanded the hefty ransom, warning him that he would meet the same fate as Siddiqui if he failed to comply.

The MLA took the matter seriously and contacted the Superintendent of Police in Akola to report the incident. He stated that law enforcement has already initiated action regarding the threats, reflecting the seriousness of the allegations made by Pathan.
