In Vilnius, a local resident named Alfred was shocked to see garbage dumped on the street near waste containers on Pelesos street, prompting him to question whether it was a protest or caused by bad weather conditions. He noticed the garbage incident occurred around 9:30 AM, shortly after a waste collection truck was seen parked nearby. Alfred took a photograph of the discarded waste, expressing his frustration over the unsightly scene.
Arminas Murnikovas, the head of the Vilnius branch of the waste collection company 'Ekonovus', clarified the situation by stating that the garbage truck driver's actions were misinterpreted. He explained that the driver had detected smoke coming from the vehicle around 8:30 AM while servicing a container for packaging waste. To prevent a potential fire, the driver had to dump the smoking waste on the road, which unfortunately created the appearance of carelessness.
