Mayor Stergios Tsirkas shared in a MEGA show called 'Buongiorno' that Nea Makri was selected by the international production team due to its features that align well with the movie's script. The production has requested some adjustments with lighting, suggesting a collaborative effort with local authorities. Additionally, the mayor revealed that the production provided sponsorship support aimed at benefiting local schools, indicating a positive relationship between the film crew and the community.
