The defense is focused on air defense and protecting critical infrastructure, announced Zůna

Czech Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna emphasized the country's increasing focus on air defense and the protection of critical infrastructure during a commanders' meeting.

Czech Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna announced that the review of crisis legislation, the development of air defense systems, and the protection of critical infrastructure are emerging as paramount security priorities for the state. This announcement was made during a commanders' assembly, where Zůna stated that these priorities align with the government's program declaration to ensure the safety of the state, the stability of public finances, and the capability to protect citizens in crises. He highlighted that defense is a key priority within this framework.

The minister elaborated that the approach must be comprehensive, addressing legislative frameworks and conceptual management, to personnel, infrastructure, and weapon systems. He stressed the need for responsibility, transparency, and effectiveness as core principles guiding this expansive task. Zůna indicated that navigating the complexities of defense requires a thorough understanding of significant processes in army building rather than a mere list of tasks and activities.

Furthermore, Zůna expressed a desire for future evaluations to focus on important aspects of military development, intending to shift away from a general overview towards a more detailed assessment of critical processes. This shift aims to enhance the effectiveness of the military’s strategic planning and capabilities in light of growing security challenges.
