Located in a repurposed Nazi bunker, the Berlin Story bunker has launched a permanent exhibition that focuses on the ongoing war in Ukraine, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of Russia's invasion on February 24, 2022. This exhibition aims to highlight the necessity of continued support for Ukraine, using artifacts from the frontline, weapons, and personal testimonies to confront visitors with the harsh realities of the conflict. According to Wieland Giebel, curator of the museum, the display intends to create awareness among people who may be distanced from the conflict’s physical impact.

The addition of this Ukrainian-focused exhibition complements the bunker’s existing permanent display on Nazism and Germany's history from 1945 to the present, which predominantly attracts tourists rather than local residents. Giebel emphasizes that for German visitors, the idea of war is often abstract, and the exhibition serves as a vital educational tool to make the consequences of conflict more tangible.
